The latest signings to Songs In The Key Of Knife represent both experience and youth in equal measure.
Raiden needs no introducing, having been tearing up the drum+bass scene for the best part of a decade, releasing on labels such as Renegade Hardware, Architecture and his own imprints Offkey and new label Voodoo.
Stanza may be a relative newcomer to music production but, with an ear for high-quality music as an acomplished DJ, he is no stranger to the world of drum+bass. Songs In The Key Of Knife continues to demonstrate a commitment to the grass roots of music… if the name Stanza is new to you now, it won’t be for long!
Danny Byrd is in fine form yet again. Following on from his massive track “Red Mist VIP” getting playlisted last summer on BBC Radio 1, he has made his way back onto the B-List with new track “Sweet Harmony” and the A-List on BBC Radio 1Xtra.
Good work Danny, look out for more from the Byrd later in 2010!
Dmitry Nekrasov’s music has been described as “nothing short of organized chaos”, raw aggression that has been harnessed and sculptured into rhythmical dancefloor perfection. Now he brings his finely-tuned neurofunk sound to Songs In The Key Of Knife.
Engage is set for big things in 2010 and beyond, his track ‘Above The Clouds’ is due out in March on Noisia’s brand new Invisible imprint. For more about Dmitry, check out his Key Of Knife writer page or his MySpace…
James Pullen aka Mistabishi’s track “White Collar Grime” is in the new Michael Caine movie “Harry Brown”.
In Cinemas now it is one of the best British Movies this year.
Danny Byrd’s superb “Red Mist V.I.P” is in new British gangster flick “Dead Man Running”. This tops off a fantastic year for Danny, with his track appearing on Hospital’s Sick Music compilation, being playlisted on Radio 1 and now making it’s way onto “Dead Man Running”.
Christmas has come early for Songs In The Key Of Knife and we are extremely excited to announce the arrival of three new signings…
Synkro, Enei and Megadrummer.
All three are super hot new talents covering all the bases in drum+bass, dubstep and beyond. Despite the fact that just 3 years ago none of these guys had a single release, they now boast almost 150 works between them. Keep an eye out for them in the weeks, months and years to come!
It’s mussle+chips, waffles and a pint of Hoegaarden all round as Songs In The Key Of Knife publishing celebrates the exclusive signing of Belgian wonderkid Netsky!!
It’s hard to believe that Boris ‘Netsky’ Daenen’s debut release on an offshoot of DJ Hype’s Ganja label arrived as recently as spring 2009. With a trickle of high-quality releases since then, he has quickly established himself as one of the hottest new talents in drum+bass.
His track ‘Smile’ recently featured on the massive ‘Hospitality presents: This Is Drum+Bass‘ compilation and his version of Miike Snow’s ‘Black and Blue’ clearly demonstrates his remixing capabilities. Moving into 2010, he has signed exclusively to the mighty Hospital Records. The future is very bright for this young Belgian talent!
Hospital are proud to announce the latest signing to their artist roster Subwave.
With D+B bigger than ever before on a global scale, there is nowhere more up-and-coming than Russia, and Subwave is right at the heart of the Moscow scene.
With two awesome tracks on Hospital’s Future Sound Of Russia and a whole host of slick tracks in the pipeline, expect more Subwave in your system shortly.
As well as signing as a Hospital artist, Subwave aka Gleb Soloviev is now signed as writer with all of his future works to be published by Songs In The Key Of Knife.
Logistics’ track “Cosmonaut” and 4 other Songs In The Key of Knife tracks from Mistabishi, Muffler and two more Logistics tracks are in the new Forza 3 game. Check the demo out here with Cosmonaut playing from 0:50 seconds.
