More signings for Songs In The Key Of Knife!

First up, we welcome the versatile writing skills of Matan Zohar aka MRSA. Matan will be supplying deadly and contagious drum+bass and dubstep for Key Of Knife, but is also well known for his output under the name Mat Zo.

If that wasn’t enough Otto Hassinen aka Trisector, accompanied by his Takomo production partner Pekka Kokkonen, wade in with a sackful of heavyweight drum+bass, dubstep and breakbeat.

The latest signings to Songs In The Key Of Knife represent both experience and youth in equal measure.

Raiden needs no introducing, having been tearing up the drum+bass scene for the best part of a decade, releasing on labels such as Renegade Hardware, Architecture and his own imprints Offkey and new label Voodoo.

Stanza may be a relative newcomer to music production but, with an ear for high-quality music as an acomplished DJ, he is no stranger to the world of drum+bass. Songs In The Key Of Knife continues to demonstrate a commitment to the grass roots of music… if the name Stanza is new to you now, it won’t be for long!

Dmitry Nekrasov’s music has been described as “nothing short of organized chaos”, raw aggression that has been harnessed and sculptured into rhythmical dancefloor perfection. Now he brings his finely-tuned neurofunk sound to Songs In The Key Of Knife.

Engage is set for big things in 2010 and beyond, his track ‘Above The Clouds’ is due out in March on Noisia’s brand new Invisible imprint. For more about Dmitry, check out his Key Of Knife writer page or his MySpace…

It’s mussle+chips, waffles and a pint of Hoegaarden all round as Songs In The Key Of Knife publishing celebrates the exclusive signing of Belgian wonderkid Netsky!!

It’s hard to believe that Boris ‘Netsky’ Daenen’s debut release on an offshoot of DJ Hype’s Ganja label arrived as recently as spring 2009. With a trickle of high-quality releases since then, he has quickly established himself as one of the hottest new talents in drum+bass.

His track ‘Smile’ recently featured on the massive ‘Hospitality presents: This Is Drum+Bass‘ compilation and his version of Miike Snow’s ‘Black and Blue’ clearly demonstrates his remixing capabilities. Moving into 2010, he has signed exclusively to the mighty Hospital Records. The future is very bright for this young Belgian talent!

New writer alert: Ukraine’s finest is onboard!!

Since his debut release in 2003, Alexander has been composing music of the highest quality for a host of respected dance labels including Moving Shadow. In 2004, with the assistance of Latvian singer Yana Kay, he unleashed “Remember Me” on the unsuspecting dance music community. The track created a huge stir, turning many UK heads towards the rapidly growing drum+bass scene in eastern Europe and gaining massive support from Concord Dawn, Fresh, Pendulum and John B no less.

Moving into 2010 the drum+bass productions keep on coming with an album in the pipeline and a spattering of techno releases under the name Kvadrat. Watch out!

Having already secured the amazing track ‘Beautiful Lies’ at the end of 2008, Songs In The Key Of Knife snaps up the rest this young starlets catalogue!

Music creation has been of huge importance to Matus Lenicky since the age of 12, taking him on a journey through just about every sub genre of dance music you can imagine. In 2009 his track “Beautiful Lies” lit up the switchboard after being played by London Elektricity on the Hospital Records podcast and subsequently found a home on the brilliant Sick Music compilation hitting the top 30 of the iTunes album chart. Radio play from the likes of Zane Lowe and High Contrast on BBC Radio 1 soon followed, now Matus is batting off remix requests and DJing at sell-out club nights including a UK debut at the new Fabric-owned Matter nightclub in the O2 dome. There’s more to come, so keep your ears and eyes peeled on this young talent!

As we begin to reach out and expand the Key Of Knife catalogue, we’ve recruited the writing skills on one of the finest in the business… the legendary SKC.

The latest addition to the SITKOK roster is one of Budapest’s finest electronic and dance music creators. Gábor Nagymáthé has an impressive repertoire, releasing music for many leading drum & bass labels including Soul:r, DSCI4, Timeless and Hospital Records. Having written quality tech-driven music since the turn of the millennium, Gábor unleashed his debut full-length album entitled “Killing Me Softly” through Commercial Suicide in 2006. He then delivered a massive rework of classic d&b track “The Code” in 2007 and has also remixed for the likes of London Elektricity. Gábor continues to be instrumental in the development of dance music not just within his native Hungary but throughout Europe.
